Patience
Every early bird morning for me is the same. I wake up to church bells. Settle my mind for the days offerings. Serve up a morning breakfast. Leave a pot of water boiling as I take a shower and chose the days costume. NY1 keeps me informed on the info I need like the weather and sports and other randomness. My pup Casey idles along. She’s 14 yrs old and only eats soft food. I give her a walk. Its my first taste of the outside and what nature wants to do for the day ahead. Yet none of the morning feels complete until I see the old man.
The old man is a nameless old asian man. I put him in his mid 80’s. He is short with quicksilver short hair and a pale complection. Every morning he comes out, rain or shine to just simple walk. He cirlces the block numerous times. I imagine he’s been doin this for years. I imagine at some point in the past he probably ran. What was his life about I wonder. What stories does he have to tell…
His simple act of keeping the blood flowing reminds me that life is a marathon. That no matter what, you wake up and start a new day. Stay chiseled and mentally sharp friends..
Mile(day) 10,706 of the days ahead….
